ron davenport
For Ron Davenport, the inspiration for professional dreams started in Mr. Franklin's 8th grade classroom as an assignment to draft a house.  From then on, Ron knew that he had found his vocation.

Architecture allows him to capture artistically the aspirations of his clients in physical form.  He especially appreciates those opportunities to create "unique spaces that do not fit the status quo."

After graduating from Drexel University, he began his career as a designer in the office of John J. Olivieri Architects, in Collingswood, NJ, where he was senior designer for the residential design studio. After moving to Harrisonburg, he was an Associate / Project Manager for 5 + years with Moseley Architects, where, most notably, he was Designer/ Project Manager for the Funkhouser Center at Bridgewater College, Designer/ Project Manager for 4 new Pitsylvania County Middle Schools, and Designer/ Project Manager for several other public education facilities throughout the Commonwealth- Rockingham County, Roanoke County, Stafford County, Loudoun County and Pittsylvania County.

Ron is also an accomplished artist, who has exhibited his paintings and renderings in Drexel's Nesbitt Art Gallery as well as several private art galleries in the Philadelphia area.  He uses his critical eye as a guest juror for JMU's School of Art & Art History, where he also teaches Design Studio for the School of Art & Art History's Interior Design Program.

He and his wife Suzanne enjoy life in the Valley along with their two children, Ian and Rachel.

For a number of years, he has been involved with Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and also served with the Arts Council of the Valley and Court Square Theater.  He and his family are members of Grace Covenant Church in Harrisonburg.
